Strategic Partnerships Bring Generational Transformation to USA
EvanTell and One by One Celebrate Joint Initiative for Reaching Young Families
Dallas/Fort Worth, TX—Generational Transformation is a ground-breaking joint initiative partnering EvanTell, a 39-year-old worldwide evangelism ministry, with One by One Ministries, a premiere family mentoring program for new and expectant families. On March 21, a luncheon was held at the Museum of Biblical Arts in Dallas to celebrate this initiative with inspirational speakers from both EvanTell and One by One.The ministry leaders shared their mutual vision to influence an entire generation by enriching the quality of life for babies and their parents, one baby and one family at a time.
In 1973, the Roe vs. Wade decision made abortion on demand legal in every state in the U.S. In response, a great movement for life began, with faith-based pregnancy centers in every state offering assistance to women and men facing unplanned pregnancy. In January 2008, EvanTell took the first steps to build a customized, evangelism training and equipping ministry to reach this specific group of women and men with the gospel. Today, over 700 pregnancy centers in the United States are members of EvanTell’s Save the Mother, Save her Child (SMSC) initiative. At a SMSC center, a mother finds expertise and respect, honest answers to her questions, a pregnancy test, an ultrasound or sonogram and practical support. She also hears the gospel from someone who shares it with grace and compassion.
Now, through the Generational Transformation team approach, expectant moms have access to a mature, Christian mentor trained by One by One to walk alongside them during their pregnancies and their babies’ first year, when mothers may be more open to the gospel than at any other time in their lives. “This partnership is the Lord’s doing,” says EvanTell ministry director Mary Margaret Gibson. “A One by One trained mentor is the answer to the prayer of every pregnancy center director who has ever had to watch a woman who has chosen life for her baby, and perhaps Christ as her Savior, walk out the door ALONE into the life that brought her there. We are grateful to be partners with a ministry whose mission so aligns with our own.”
The relationship between EvanTelland One by One helps connect the Body of Christ in the church to the Body of Christ in pregnancy centers on the front lines of Generational Transformation. One by One trains volunteer mentors from local churches using the finest family curriculum available, focused on empowering parents to nurture and prepare their child for success in life. Newly expectant moms needing a mentor are identified by a SMSC pregnancy center, and the church and pregnancy center work together to match mentors for the moms. An EvanTell staff member is assigned to each One by One church.
EvanTell’s SMSC centers focus on the physical, emotional and spiritual life of a woman through the lens of the gospel of Christ while One by One extends God’s role in building sound families and relationships through mentors who are grounded in the gospel and equipped in discipleship. This shared strategy will provide mentoring for 30,000 families in parenting and in the faith within the next ten years.
